Switchyards Houston

Switchyards is awesome. Great music, awesome coffee from Tenfold, and a creative aesthetic. I've been a member for over a month and come here 5 days a week and it's been a worthwhile experience for me. It's a great place to actually get work done and get a break from working from home. Also, meeting room booths and a variety of workspace options (standing desks, high tables, low tables, and couches).

This place is awesome. I went to the preview opening and got a membership the day it was announced. I’m so impressed by the amount of care and intention that goes into this space. I would recommend a membership to anyone that is thinking about it. There’s no other place like it. It’s such a great place to get things done. It even smells good! I want to address some of the 2-3 star reviews complaining about very fixable and understandable issues. Roof noise: The roof noise was clearly communicated. They sent an email. Aren’t you thankful they’re taking care of the building?? Also, while the roof noise is temporary, your review leaves a lasting impact. Would you rather the place is leaky when it rains? The music is your basic coffee shop background jazz and easy listening, so not sure what people are complaining about. The sound level isn’t loud. Idk if they changed it recently, but this is coming from someone with pretty severe noise sensitivity who gets headaches and is easily distracted. Also no one has been obnoxiously loud as other reviews mentioned. I haaaaaaate when people take calls on speaker phone or listen to music/videos without headphones or have super loud conversations. But switchyards have signs around saying not to do these things. People seem pretty aware that it’s a work environment and therefore more conscientious/courteous about noise level (thank GOD!!). Saving money on coffee shops now, with unlimited coffee, free WiFi, and 🥁 outlets!!! I don’t drive due to seizu

-Minimum one outlet and one USB port per seat. -Consistent fast WIFI. -Parking lot in the back + street parking on Kipling and Huldy st. Never had an issue finding parking. -Mostly mid-career professionals. -Quiet room, conference room, and call booths. -Ambient noise is not too loud - 56 decibels. Most are able to take web meetings throughout the day. Background music is "world music," coffee shop, funk and soul. -Free coffee, tea, water and stroopwafels. -Free pads and tampons. -Clean and well-maintained.

Great place to get work done and enjoy good coffee without fighting for a table at a coffee shop. Posting up here has become a regular part of my work flow. To hit on a few specifics, parking on the street has not been an issue. The music has been consistently solid and at a level comfortable to work in. Bathrooms are clean and coffee is hot.
