Switchyards Virginia Highland

Switchyards has been a staple workspace for me over the past few years, and I’ve recently returned to the clubs. I came to check out their newest addition, and wow. it's so so good. love the division of space. top floor normal workspace, and lower level quiet space. the rooms live up to the Switchyards aesthetic and obviously come with the same amenities [phone booth, coffee, stroopwafel]. I think this will be my new location. love the dee focus space, and the ability to lounge down here, or use a private desk like at the Decatur location.

Excellent coworking spot. Gets a bit busy between 11-4; otherwise one of my favorite locations

Quick notes on Virginia Highlands location: - good location, with plenty of food and shops within walking distance. about 5 minute bike ride off the beltline from Ponce City Market. - bike storage behind a gate feels a bit more secure than other locations. - perfect size, and cool layout. with a huge quiet space downstairs, which is hard to beat. - the spiral staircase is cool, and required to go up and down floors. but honestly can feel sorta sketchy, make sure to keep a free hand on the rail. ---- General Switchyards Review --- I moved to Atlanta in September knowing I'd need to find co-working space. This is the third of the locations in and around Atlanta that I’ve been to. Definitely my least favorite. The space is super cool, loft style with a spiral staircase to get between the upstairs and down. Water is down and out of order as well as coffee! Kind of a bummer considering I spend 8-10 hours a day here for work and study. Another negative is the parking situation. Not only are there no signs indicating where parking is permitted for Switchyards members, there’s also no validation for parking if you park in an area that’s Pay2Park (unlike the Buckhead location which does validate). Hoping I don’t get a ticket… UPDATE: I received a prompt email response to this review and would like to clarify. I love the sunlight on the top floor of this location, the two outdoor seating areas, and the big quiet focus area downstairs. It is sometimes a bit warm down there in the summer, however. Love that it is also gated and the bike storage is bountiful. Not a friendly location for people with mobility issues due to only having stairs and them being required for entry, FYI.
