I chose this salon after seeing online reviews describing it as welcoming and affordable. When I called, I clearly explained the exact style I wanted and was quoted $180. I confirmed the details before coming in. Upon arrival, there was no greeting despite multiple stylists being present. I had to repeat that I had called ahead. There was confusion about the style, even though I offered to show a reference video. I was then directed to two stylists who openly argued about who would complete the service. The stylist repeatedly tried to change the style I requested and braided my hair extremely tight, even after I expressed discomfort. Excessive tension can cause breakage and long-term damage, which was concerning. Most disappointing was the pricing. After the service had already started,

Tess was kind and warm to my son, and put sincere effort into creating the look he wanted. The upgrades to the salon space make it open and inviting. They even gave us a cap to protect his new style!

I would I had the best experience. I called and able to get my hair done on the same day. The owner and staff was very welcoming and friendly. Yes I will be back!!!!

Always peace and respect when I’m there. Those sisters in that shop work extremely well together. On their feet over 10 hrs daily. Helping others look and feel good, all love! They started my Dreads 6 years ago. Now they help keep my daughters Locs looking decent. I appreciate you all! Take care stay safe!

Going to Tess African hair braiding for about seven years. Things have changed drastically. First of all they used to play Christian music now it’s music and videos that are not appropriate for young clients. There’s also a $25 deposit that they charge some people for an appointment. We showed up on time for our appointment with the stylist and my granddaughter sat for almost 3 hours waiting to get her hair done. We only asked for the front to be done over and they tried to charge us $150 to redo the front of her hair with the original cost we paid for the whole head was $200. What kind of math are they doing there. 6 1/2 hours at the salon just to get the front of my granddaughter‘s hair done and that’s unacceptable.Also, no apology was offered to us.
