The Green Garage

The Green Garage is not just a co-working space , it’s a home away from home. It’s structurally gorgeous and thoughtfully managed and designed. This historic Detroit building hosts so many of our city’s best and brightest, oldest and wisest. As businesses in residence at The Green Garage we are able to have a real support network and get personal guidance and recommendations for nearly anything and everything we need to support our work(and ourselves). My favorite thing about it is the dedicated space to work focus- but also the shared spaces to connect and remember we’re humans not just keyboard creatures.

I was a member of the Green Garage for over seven years. I remember going in and looking around, and the community manager asked if I could wait about a month to start because they were getting new furniture. I said, Nope, I'll be here tomorrow! That was one of my best decisions. The beautiful facility, the Midtown Detroit location, the wonderful owners and staff, the other members...it was truly like a family. We often go back for community lunches and other special events because we still miss everyone. I invite anyone considering working out of the Green Garage to check it out! It is really a unique workplace for independent businesses.

The Green Garage is such a special place in Detroit. It’s more than just an office, it’s a thoughtful, welcoming community of people. As a small business owner, I appreciate the balance of independence and connection here: it’s quiet enough to focus, but full of opportunities to collaborate, share ideas, and learn from others. The building itself is beautiful and sustainably designed. You can tell how carefully everything has been considered, from the reuse of materials to the Friday community lunches that bring everyone together.

Co-worked there almost every day for two and a half years. It's a really excellent place with friendly people and a sense of community. There was never a shortage of places to take meetings, nor was there ever not hot coffee on hand. The owners really want this place and their other businesses in the area to be sustainable cornerstones of the area, and have done a great job accomplishing it.
