I took my daughter here for her birthday in January and I am extremely disappointed with the outcome. I’ve honestly been hesitant to write this review after seeing the way the owner responds to other negative reviews, because many of them seem to be met with defensive or attacking replies. However, I feel it’s important to share her experience so other people can make an informed decision. Before the appointment, I specifically asked for a price quote and was told it would be between $320–$480. At the end of the appointment, the stylist commented that it should have actually cost even more because of how much product and time she used, and then charged me $500, implying it was some kind of deal. If you’re looking for someone incredibly talented with color and highlights, I can’t recommend Christina Ortiz enough! She works at Olive of Branch Salon, and she truly exceeded all of my expectations. Christina did an amazing job with my highlights — the placement was absolutely perfect and the color she chose for me couldn’t have been more spot-on. She really took the time to understand what I wanted and used her expertise to create a look that complemented my hair beautifully. The final result turned out even better than I could have imagined! Not only is she talented, but she’s also professional, detail-oriented, and clearly passionate about what she does. Cristina was my stylist and she knocked it out! I can in with specific requests and she was great about trusting my instincts with my hair and offering her professional opinion I really felt beautiful after she got done with my hair. I recently lost a loved one and I desperately needed a refresh and she exceeded my expectations. Beyond that she made me feel welcome and comfortable which isn’t always common in salons. Thank you Cristina for my new hair style and putting a smile back on my face :)

I don’t want to be too harsh since I understand mistakes happen but I did have an unpleasant experience with the salon. The reason i’m not rating them lower is because the stylist did not charge me due to the damage and she offered to do a free treatment a few weeks from my initial appointment. My hair was last colored around a year prior to my appointment and I did have a lot of grow out. I went in trying to do a perm and my hair ended up falling out and even 4 weeks later it’s extremely damaged and is affecting me a lot since my hair is half curled due to the perm but also very uneven and broken. I have no choice but to apply minimal heat for it to be wear able. I told the stylist to cut it since the damage was so bad i decided growing it out was the best choice. I wasn’t going to rate t

Laurie is AMAZING!! So skilled, and such a great person!! We did babylights and tiny money pieces. She made sure that everything was exactly how I wanted, and she even let me pull out my own front pieces to show her how much I wanted trimmed around my face. My hair is VERY long and I know it was a pain. She is so patient and meticulous, and it’s very obvious that she takes pride in her work! She made me feel so comfortable and welcome. We also did a lash lift and tint, and she did amazing. I spent over 5 hours with her all together, and I enjoyed every single minute of it!!! Love you Laurie!!!
