The Strand

Ginger, the owner, has been working her magic on my hair for decades at this point. I've lived in other states and still hold out to come back to her. I've trusted her with dance updos when I was in grade school, with major, life-altering haircuts, and she's kept the ever evolving joys and sorrows I've shared with her over the years near and dear to her heart. She is truly a treasure of a person and a stylist and I will go trust her with my hair for as long as she will have me!

Wonderful place to work and visit!! Atmosphere is friendly and you feel right at home! Updos..cuts and Mohawks! Colors, beach waves and haircuts for little munchkins and minions on the loose! You get a tootsie pop after your itchy haircut or an expresso during your color!

I have visited Sheli at this salon several times over the last four years. Each time, the cut that I received was a little worse. This time, I was left with no choice but to go somewhere else. Sheli tried to pin her neglect and mistakes on me by claiming that I asked her to destroy my hair. She asked me after thinning one time if she should keep going, and I said yes - we were trying to lessen the weight of very heavy hair due to migraines - only she didn't stop and ask when she thought it may have been enough. She took whole chunks out of my hair, totally flattened the right side, and gave me basically a chopped up mullet. She told me I could come back in for it to be fixed... in three weeks. I was not going to live with the destruction on my head for three weeks! I asked for a refund and

I can’t recommend The Strand enough. My stylist, Sheli, immediately impressed me with her quiet confidence and experience. She was friendly and personable, of course, but also knowledgeable and supportive as I decided I really did want to let go of my pandemic hairstyle. Sheli took the time to listen, carefully studying and discussing the photos of the styles I was interested in. Careful throughout, she made sure at every step that I was okay with what she was doing. My new hairstyle is all I hoped for, easy to take care of and an attractive frame for my face. I feel so lucky to have found Sheli and The Strand.

Ginger is an amazing hair stylist. She always makes me look better and she is a joy to be around. The pricing is very acceptable and the customer service is outstanding.
