Yams Hair Braiding

They took me right away and added in a complimentary blow dry for free! I got knotless braids and they’re very neat and nice. They also made sure to clean up every single braid. Will definitely be back!

If you want the worst hair braiding experience in the DMV, most likely all of the US, head to Yams Hair Braiding in Silver Spring. Went in yesterday and spent the entire day and $300 to get home and look at the back of my head and see these terrible parts! I called and the owner had an attitude but told me to come back today. They took the back of my hair out with the nastiest attitude ever and cut my hair in the process. STAY AWAY from Yams!!

Worst experience! I showed the braider a picture of the braid style I wanted (a bob with human hair curls) and it STILL came out looking nothing like what I showed her. I told her 1/4 of the way through it wasn’t what I wanted. She asked me if she needed to be removed so another braider can try. I drove 1.5 hours (it was 5pm at the time) and wasn’t about to continue to sit for another few hours for someone to take it down and redo it. I just told her to continue. When she was done and I looked in the mirror, it wasn’t what I wanted but it looked ok. When I got home and actually SEEN my parts and the uneven sections, I was extremely upset. Then 3 days later all the curly pieces AND EVEN BRAIDS were falling out. The hair in the back was all braided and those fell out immediately. She didn’t

Clodette was very sweet and braids were neat. Everyone in the shop was very welcoming and friendly. Me and my mom both came and love our hair, we will definitely be back. Service was quick too. In the picture, it is not finished, but I already love it.

Love this salon. I've been several times to several different stylist and the results are always flawless! Pictured below is my most recent visit in June!
