You Are You

In spring I went to You are You hair Salon for a deep conditioning, trim and styling for my hair. I had been to this salon once a few years before for deep conditioning and styling, and had a great experience. Unfortunately, the hairstylist I usually saw moved out of state. Being that it had been a long time since I went to You are You, prior to scheduling the appointment, I called in and stated that I had 4C hair. I asked if they had any hairstylist who was experienced with hair texture like mine. (I usually do this before going to any hair salon, due to horrible experiences I've had with hair stylists unfamiliar with 4C hair texture) They told me yes, so I made a downpayment and scheduled the appointment. Stay away if you have anything after type 2 hair! Not for anyone who doesn’t have straight or curly hair. Same experience as Jerri TJ in reviews. Traumatizing

Very nice place small but not uncomfortably so. The ladies that work there are very friendly. I went there for a dye job basically dark brownish red to blond. At first my lady- Uriah- was hesitant about the blond saying it probably wouldn't be able to happen. I could tell she was worried about damaging my hair but tried it out bc I was pouting something fierce lol (its for my 40th bday n never been blond so cut me a break lol) but at the end of it all it came out great! She gave me an ombre look which I have received many compliments on and advised me how to care for it to decrease future damage. She even makes her own silk bonnets very quality forward and beautifully made! I don't get my hair done much but I'll def be going back for my touch ups 🥰 sorry the before isn't more up close

I just visited this salon for the second time and I am very disappointed. My first visit was a wash and set and a cut. The stylist ripped through my hair like I was a doll, and cut my hair in uneven layers. I am very surprised considering she also has curly hair and should know that you MUST handle curly/natural hair with TLC. My most recent visit will be my last. This time there was more ripping through my hair, and the end result was mediocre. I don’t know why I threw $40 down the drain by coming to this place. I believe it was Amaya who styled me. Just terrible!

🤯 I haven't had my hair done in 5 years. I'm speechless. The wash felt great love having them in my hair. I can't wait to go back. Everyone needs to go here
