Park & Go - Tsawwassen Ferries

Well the drop off was fantastic. As I write this I have now been waiting for almost an hour after having called from the ferry and being assured someone would be here to pick up. Some one from a different and later ferry has arrived and he is expecting pick up in 5 min. Fingers xx. I could have walked there by now. Based on comments this is common. Next trip we will be looking at other options 😕 use caution with this parking option. It used to be great.

This is an Rv park, renting space to people who can’t find parking at the terminal. They charge $20 a day during the long weekend, which is only five dollars less than parking at the terminal, they use a used van for shuttle service which, during our short trip, the driver managed to hit a curb and also play the music too loud, but the big deal is is that they’re not in a rush or aware of ferry terminal Activity. We were told upon our return to call ahead and they’ll be a shuttle waiting, we did this and there was no shuttle. When the driver showed up, he said, why didn’t you phone me to which we advised him that we did call and he said that his current van was full and we would have to wait For another ride. It is NOT $19 per 24hrs. She charged me $38 for ‘2 days’ because I was coming back the ‘next day’. Wild.

This was my first time using Park & Go, and had heard good things about friends using this service before. We went to Victoria for a day trip and had told them we were coming back on the 5pm ferry. They said that was fine as the “last call” ferry is the 7pm sailing, and it didn’t require us to call before 6pm to arrange a separate pickup. They told us pickup would be 6:30pm. Unfortunately the ferries were delayed that afternoon, so I called the office before 6pm to inform them that the ferry was running 45 minutes before schedule. The staff on the other side said the shuttle will get us at 7:15pm. We arrived to the shuttle pickup spot at 7:20 and no shuttle was there. To other travellers thinking this is the parking for the ferry terminal, it is NOT. DO NOT STOP HERE TO PARK IF YOU'RE CUTTING IT CLOSE TO YOUR DEPARTURE TIME. I accidentally came here, realized what it was (private parking not a the terminal) and was subsequently late for the ferry and missed it by 2 minutes. Screwed up my entire day. They should be more upfront about not being the actual parking at the terminal. So angry right now.
